"My vet puts red or blue plastic/paper sticky-seal collars on all kittens when they go in to be spay/neutered.
They do all our rescue kittens and write names, procedures, etc. on the collars.
I picked six of them up the day after their surgery, we brought them home and put them in the bathroom, not even thinking about the collars.
This room has been kitty-proofed. Not even the toilet paper remains.
About a half hour later we hear screaming!
We run into the bathroom and one of the kittens had caught the collar over the top of the toilet shutoff valve.
He was flipping and flopping and consequently tightening the collar around his neck!
The toilet is between the wall and the sink cabinet so neither of us could get behind to reach him and out of fear he was trying to bite us.
The kitten is screaming, I'm screaming, my husband is freaking out.
Finally my husband broke the seal (the paper/plastic wasn't about to break!) Now I don't put ANYTHING around their necks!"
