Purrbodys Clyde of Terzovia

There are many debates about inbreeding in pedigree cats and arguments around using Foundation cats.

Some breeders are very adamant that Foundation cats can't be any healthier as they are never been tested for this or that disease.

My argument is that it is Mother Natures choice - sometimes in a quite a cruel way - in which feral animal going to survive.

Therefore - logically - the strongest survives as they do not have Vets, vaccinations and any cosy homes available and food needs to be found somehow.

A Foundation Maine Coon cat is the first generation cat bred from a feral Maine Coon.
Clyde is a Foundation cat Generation 5, which means that he is the 6th generation from that of his feral ancestor.

Which means - that his inbreeding coefficient is reasonably low and it is easier to find a mating partner for him, whom he is not related to.

Clyde is large, very chunky, cute and laid back cat. He is very cuddly, loves his tummy tickled and loves to lay across my desk when it most needed.

Unfortunately he hated going to shows; but he is OK to be driven in a car - especially if I allow him to sit on my laps or to lay on the back window. He is very comical little chappy see the pictures) and gets along very well with other cats.
